American depository receipts of European stocks were 0.27% higher at 117.28 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Tuesday morning.
Gainers in Continental Europe were led by Credit Suisse (CS), a Swiss financial services company, 1.7% higher, followed by Aixtron (AIXG), a German provider of deposition equipment to the semiconductor industry, up by 1.6% and Flamel Technologies (FLML), a French pharmaceutical company, 1.5% higher.
In the UK, oil and gas production company Royal Dutch Shell – B Shares (RDS.B) was 4.2% higher, followed by Midatech Pharma (MTP), an early-stage biopharmaceutical company, up by 3.7% and Royal Dutch Shell – A Shares (RDS.A), 3.6% higher.
Decliners in Continental Europe were led by Ascendis Pharma (ASND), a Danish clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, 1.9% lower, followed by STMicroelectronics – New York Shares (STM), an Italian semiconductor company, down by 1.5% and voxeljet (VJET), a German three-dimensional printer manufacturer, 1.1% lower.
And, in the UK, health care company Shire (SHPG) was 3.2% lower, followed by oil and gas production company BP (BP), down by 2.4% and Luxfer (LXFR), a materials technology company, 1.2% lower.
