Goldcorp said Friday it has tapped Todd White, currently the company’s senior vice president for technical services and business excellence, as its next chief operating officer and executive vice president.
White succeeds George Burns, who is moving to Eldorado Gold (EGO) to work as its next chief executive officer, replacing Paul Wright, who is set to retire in April.
The succession will take place at the beginning of the new year, the company said. White has worked in the mining industry for more than 20 years.
“Todd’s strong background in operating efficiency, management systems and large-scale development projects will be invaluable as he leads our operating team going forward,” said David Garofalo, CEO of Goldcorp.
