Technology stocks were moderately higher this afternoon, with shares of tech companies in the S&P 500 posting a 0.3% increase.
In company news, Littelfuse (LFUS) rose to a new record high on Friday after the electronic components company was selected to replace Lexmark (LXK) in the S&P Midcap 400 index following the close of trading on Monday, Nov. 28.
Littelfuse moves to the mid-cap index as Apex Technology and PAG Asia Capital are expected to complete their $3.6 billion buyout of Lexmark later today. Taking Littelfuse’s place in the S&P SmallCap 600 index is Insteel Industries (IIIN), a manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products.
LFUS shares were up more than 3% at $154.67 each today, earlier climbing to a best-ever $154.89 a share.
